Linear Motion Guide Rail

A linear motion guide rail is a machine element that utilizes bearings developed for rotary motion to move heavy objects in a straight line. Also known as recirculating linear ball bearing, or linear guideway, a linear guide consists of three components: a mobile carriage, a rail that supports the movements of the carriage, and balls. Linear motion, developed in 1944,  is enabled by attaching a mechanism for recirculating the balls.
